Lyndale Half

One tall wall of kitchen cabinets extends into our open dining/living area and we want it to coordinate. Its veneer panels should do because there is nothing wet on that wall, just refrigeration, ovens and dry storage. The specific Shaker style Lyndale also goes by other names, such a Thornton, from other Kraftmaid retailers. Ellery has solid panels (but not of oak) and matches the Lyndale frames. Lyndale of oak adds the character we want due to oak's grain. (Allegedly coincidentally, both stained doors I've ordered have the more interesting grain patterns on their backs.) Oak in Saddle stain is a true warm dark brown (not reddish, greyish or blackish) that mixes in with casual antiques and contemporary walnut-stained furnishings. Suede topcoat gives it a softer sheen for a more subdued appearance. I used my homemade surface cleaner on it, and the finish held up perfectly. (I cannot speak for other cleaners, but I was glad to have the chance to try my usual surface cleanser on it!) Even during the height of the covid pandemic, Kraftmaid got door sample orders to us according to their regular schedule (with extra allowance for employee holidays, which is a good thing.) I could not find an oak door on display in Saddle stain so with this combo I am very pleasantly surprised!
